Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG

Your iPhone shoots HEIC. Most upload forms refuse it. Drop the photos here and take back JPGs — converted on your own device, not on somebody's server.

or drag and drop them hereor tap anywhere in this box
.heic, .heif · batch them, or drag a whole folder in

Nothing leaves this device. Open your browser's Network tab and watch — your file never appears.

One iPhone photo or five hundred. Drop the whole lot in at once and every HEIC is converted on your own device, then handed back as a single zip. Free, no sign-up, no file-size cap, and nothing is uploaded.

Leave the size blank unless a form demands a number. If you set one, quality is searched downwards until each photo fits.

Why your phone makes a file nothing will open

Since iOS 11 the iPhone camera has saved photos as HEIC, which stores the same picture in roughly half the space of a JPG. The catch is that HEIC is built on HEVC, a patent-encumbered video codec — so Chrome, Firefox and most upload forms simply cannot read it. You get a photo your own laptop will not open.

This is not a rare annoyance. In May 2020, students photographing handwritten answers for College Board AP exams had uploads fail because the portal accepted only JPG and PNG — and iPhones were sending HEIC.

On an iPhone, this page downloads no decoder at all

Safari can already read HEIC, because macOS and iOS have the codec built in. So the page tries your browser first and only fetches the 376 KB WebAssembly decoder if your browser genuinely cannot do the job. On Chrome and Firefox it downloads once, when you drop your first file — never on page load.

Live Photos give you the still

A Live Photo is a container holding a still image and a short video. Converting it gives you the still frame, which is what you actually wanted, and the page tells you when it found one.

You can also stop your phone making them

If you would rather not convert anything again: on iPhone go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be JPG. Photos you already took stay HEIC, which is what this page is for.

Nothing is uploaded, and camera data is left behind

Photos carry EXIF metadata including, very often, GPS coordinates of where they were taken. Because the picture is redrawn onto a canvas before saving, none of that survives into the converted file. And none of it is sent anywhere: the decoding happens in your browser, and the page's security policy forbids this site from opening a connection to anywhere but itself. Here is how that is enforced.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

    1. Drop in the .heic or .heif photos straight off your iPhone.
    2. Pick the JPG quality, and a KB limit if the form demands one.
    3. Press Convert and download JPGs that every site accepts.

MOV to MP4Turn an iPhone .mov into an .mp4 by swapping the wrapper, with the video copied across and nothing re-encoded. Trim a videoKeep the part you want. The clip is copied rather than re-encoded, so no quality is lost. Split into partsCut a long recording into pieces short enough to post, without re-encoding any of them. Rotate a videoChange the rotation flag a phone wrote instead of re-encoding the picture. Seconds, not minutes. Remove the soundDrop the audio track and copy every frame across untouched — same quality, same size. Video to MP3Convert a video’s sound to MP3, or lift the original audio out byte for byte with nothing re-encoded. Video to GIFPick a range, a frame rate and a size, and get an animated GIF back with nothing uploaded. Green screen swapSwap a green or blue screen for a solid colour with a live preview, no AI model and no watermark. Silence removerFinds the quiet stretches by listening to the audio and cuts them out, with a timeline showing every cut first. Blur pad to a new ratioFit a video into 9:16, 1:1 or another shape with a blurred background instead of black bars. Compress a videoAim at a Discord, email or WhatsApp limit — or your own — and get an MP4 checked afterwards, not just promised. Noise removerLearns your recording’s own background hiss or hum from a quiet stretch, then subtracts exactly that. Auto-reframeCrops a landscape clip to a new shape and pans the crop to follow the motion, instead of a fixed centre. CaptionsBurns an .srt or .vtt subtitle file into the video as styled, timed on-screen text. Beat syncFinds the beats in the clip's own audio and lands a flash or a zoom-punch on each one. Highlight finderScores a clip by loudness and movement, and ranks the best stretches to cut out, losslessly.
