Pick the resolution on purpose
A PDF stores a page in points, not pixels — one point is 1/72 of an inch — so there is no "original size" to recover. You choose it. 150 dpi renders an A4 page at roughly 1240 × 1754 px and is right for most uploads; 300 dpi is the archival standard and quadruples the pixel count. Where a portal names a number at all, 200 dpi is the usual floor.
This is the one tool that made the security policy looser, and only just
Rendering a PDF means running a full interpreter, and it runs in a Web Worker. This site's content
security policy starts from default-src 'none', which blocks workers outright, so
worker-src 'self' blob: had to be added for this page to function.
What did not change is connect-src 'self' — the policy still forbids this
site from opening a connection to anywhere but itself, so your document still cannot be sent
anywhere. The renderer is served from this domain, not a CDN.
The engine downloads only when you drop a file
pdf.js is around half a megabyte. It is not fetched when the page opens — only once there is a document to render. Landing here from a search costs you a page of text.
Password-protected files are refused, not guessed
If a PDF is encrypted, this page says so and stops. It does not attempt to break the password.
How to turn PDF pages into images
- Drop in the PDF.
- Choose the resolution and which pages you need.
- Press Convert and download the pages one by one or all at once.
