Order is whatever you say it is
Files combine top to bottom, and the arrows move them. Drop them in any order and fix it here rather
than renaming everything to 01-, 02- first.
Rotating does not re-render anything
A PDF page carries a rotation attribute. Turning a page sets that number — it does not rasterise the page and draw it again. Text stays selectable, vectors stay sharp, and the file does not grow. Tools that rotate by re-rendering turn a crisp document into a picture of a document.
Password-protected files are refused, not guessed
If a PDF is encrypted, this tool says so and stops. It does not try to break the password. Open the file in a reader you already trust, save an unprotected copy, and merge that.
Nothing is uploaded, and that matters more for PDFs
PDFs are where the contracts, bank statements, medical letters and signed forms live. Every mainstream merge tool asks you to upload those to a server and trust a retention promise — and in March 2025 the FBI's Denver field office warned that criminals were using free online file converters to deliver malware. This page has no server to upload to. The parser runs in your own browser, and the page's security policy blocks it from opening a connection to anywhere but this site. Here is how that is enforced.
The engine loads only when you use it
Reading an arbitrary PDF needs a real parser, and a real parser is a few hundred kilobytes. It is not downloaded when the page opens — only when you drop a file. If you landed here by accident, you paid for a page of text and nothing else.
All HermitFile tools
Every one of them runs in your browser. Nothing you open is uploaded.
